Natural Calamities inflict large scale damage to life and resources. It is during such times that all unite and help those who are in need. We, at SGIPS ,constantly endeavor toInculcate the quality of kindness in our students. As a part of our Community awareness and disasterManagement club, we undertook the task of providing relief to our brethren who were Devastated in the recent floods in North Karnataka. Our students contributed, collected and handedOver the relief materials to the city collection centre. Through this activity the students Learn to empathize and help those in need.
SG KIDZONE RED colour symbolizes enthusiasm, life and vitality. The shades of red made our tiny tots feel bright lively and cheerful.Can we imagine the world without colours? Not at all! Nature itself has many colours, which makes the world look beautiful.Kindergarten of SG Kidzone conducted ‘Red Day’ celebrated on 19th July, 2019, to introduce children into the mesmerizing realm of colours.The ‘Red day’ celebration was a wonderful learning activity which helped children to understand the concept of Primary colours.‘Red’ colour signifies Love and Compassion. The day started off with the colour red every-where red dress, red rose, red teddy, red car, red apples, red cherries, here a red………. there a red….. red red everywhere ……..our little ones did a ramp walk and spent a spectacular red day and also red craft work made by the children (funny faces).The tiny tots looked stunning in their red outfits. Special assembly was conducted with emphasis on significance of red colour. The young ones sang Red Day song ‘My red balloon….’Some of the students spoke a few sentences on the red object they brought from home. Teachers discussed the theme in circle time and linked it to all subjects.Colours are indeed the smiles of nature….. The ‘Red Day’ celebration was a wonderful learning activity.Overall, it was a fun and everlasting learning experience for the children.Smiles on the faces of kids can be seen from the attached pics.
SG INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC SCHOOL - BEGINNING OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2019 - 20 The students of SG International Public School on 3rd June, 2019 were in for a warm surprise as the school gates opened to a decorated school premises. The students were welcomed with great warmth and affection by the Principal, Vice Principal, Headmistress, coordinators and all teachers. The best part of the day was a wonderful assembly presented by the teachers. A melodious welcome song was also sung by the teachers. The day began on a positive note as Master Mallikarjun of IV standard a budding Tennis champion, who had won the National Championship, was awarded gold medals by the Principal and Vice Principal. We take preveliege in announcing his commendable achievement. The Management and staff wish all the students all the very best for the forth coming year!
Students Movie outing:SGIPS has always strived to provide the students with varied experiences be it curricular, cocurricular or experiential . Tracking Mission Mangal was one such session , for which students of grades IX &X were taken to a movie screening of the same title on 24 th August . The students learnt about the struggles of the scientists who worked for the mission Mars. They also understood that intelligence , talent and hard work will bear fruit , overcoming all obstacles.
SGIPS International Karate Champions SGIPS International Karate ChampionsThe karate kids of SGIPS made us proud by becoming the overallChampions of 2 nd Shimoga International Championship -2019. Atotal of 4500 students participated in the tournament from variouscountries such as Srilanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia , Bangladesh aswell as from different parts of our country. The tournament tookplace on 24 th & 25 th August , at Nehru Indoor Stadium ,Shimoga .The team from SGIPS exhibited excellent talent and won the highestprize. The coach Master Satvik who is National Athlete Commissionmember – India , has been training the students in the martial sport atthe school.The Championship trophy was awarded by the Member of Parliament Shri. Ragavendra ji. The students have added a feather in the winningcap of SGIPS.
FIT INDIA MOVEMENT ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY On the Occasion of National Sports day the honourable Prime Minister launched Fit India Movement. The staff and students of SGInternational Public School, watched the live telecast of the same at school. They undertook the pledge that they will strive to be fit and also inspire, family and friends to remain fit too.
PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME – 2019-20 PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME – 2019-20“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe.”Under the able guidance of the principal Mrs. Sandhya prabhakar an Orientation Programme was organized for the parents of grade IX and X at our School.The aim was tofamiliarize the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of theschool, teaching methodologies, assessment patterns and the co-scholastic activities, The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents followed by principals addresswho laid stress on effective communication between the teachers & the parents and also soughttheir support and suggestions so that the children could be provided the best for their overalldevelopment. Guidelines on effective parenting of an adolescent, regularity to school, differentmeasures to nurture a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious futurewas given by the Principal.The parents were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school right from the hair do todiscipline by Mr.Giridhar HOD sports . Later, Mrs.Sujata the examination coordinator gave anoverview of the various assessment patterns in subjects like English, Math, and Social Scienceand not to forget the co -scholastic activities which gave them an assurance that the curriculuminvolves self-directed, hands-on learning activities which not only give vent to their creativetalents and energies but also help in their all-round development of the child. Vice principal. MrsA V Lakshmi,along with the Principal answered the parental queries and emphasised oncollaborative work of school and parents towards better results. The orientation programmeproved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guidetheir children in an amicable way.It helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methodsto reinforce the learning process of their children. It was indeed a fruitful programme for thebenefit of every child at SGIPS.
INDEPENDENCE DAY 2019 - 20 Freedom in the Mind, Faith in the words, Pride in our hearts, Memories in our souls. SGIPS celebrated 73rd independence day with great zest and enthusiasm. The day served as a great reminder of sacrifices made by innumerable freedom fighters. This year too saw the spirit of patriotism displayed by our students in all the activities they performed. It was heartening to see the students apply themselves with zeal and zest to the Independence Day celebrations. The Chief Guest- Our Chairman Sir hoisted the national flag along with the other dignitaries. the choir group rendered patriotic songs in Kannada and Hindi.It is said that dance is the hidden language of the soul, of the body. Patriotism and integration was displayed through various dance performances by the students of grade V to X . The highlight of the programme was the Pyramid formation by our students. it was indeed a spectacular show. Our Chairman sir emphasized on importance of freedom as it is every individual’s right. It was an apt day to display unity in diversity through the folk dance which was presented by - the four houses RUBY, TOPAZ ,EMERALD AND SAPPHIRE .Folk dances of various states were performed gracefully by all the teams . It was indeed a splendid performance. On this occasion , Principal madam addressed the gathering and also requested everyone to contribute to the flood affected districts of North Karnataka. Mrs. Manjula.T proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended when the choir group rendered Vande Mataram. There was an aura of patriotism in the school campus.
INTERSCHOOL ATHLETICS TOURNAMENT AT SKEI Maintaining pace with our robust sports culture ,the budding athletes of SGIPS , added yet another feather to the prestigious cap of our institution. Our athletics team, comprising of thirty nine members, participated at the 3rd SKEI Inter School Athletics Competition held at Smt. Kamalabai Educational Instituitions ,Edwards Road, Bangalore on 30 th August 2019.They took part in various track and field competitions in categories such as Under -12,Under -14 and Under- 16. Around 25 schools across the city participated in the competition. Overcoming stiff competition,our students secured three medals in all. Samuel Ravikumar won the gold medal in 800 mts race , while Sanath Gowda bagged the silver in the same. the event. Naresh bagged the bronze in the shot put event. All these achievements were in the under 16 category.We are proud of their of their achievements .Wish them more such success!
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2019 @ SGIPS ‘We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment .’Every nation today is making resolutions and implementing progressive plans for a sustainable environment. The theme for the World Environment day is ‘Air Pollution’ and it is hosted by China.The students of SG International Public School celebrated the World Environment Day on 6th June,2019. The day commenced with a special assembly where the students depicted a wonderful message through a dance performance on Saving trees .The message reverberated that trees should not be cut ,instead more should be planted. A green plantation drive then followed, in which students planted a number of saplings which they had brought .The already green campus , now looked like a garden bedecked with colourful flowers. The students of the higher grades then went on a rally imploring the residents in the neighbourhood to plant trees, avoid plastics and reuse resources. They spread the message through colourful placards .The day ended with all students participating wholeheartedly in the event.

The event took place from 29/08/2019 to 01/09/2019.Around 25 schools were part of the exhibition. Many people visited the prestigious science exhibition .It was heartening to see our young innovators explain complex scientific principles like polarization, structure and composition of various rocks and minerals, with ease. It was a great opportunity for our students to go beyond textbooks and experience the magic of science. More such forays in the field of science will help them develop a flair for science.
